2002 - 2009 Licence competition

The Commission ran a competition for the 2002-2009 Licence to run the National Lottery. There were two bids: one by Camelot and one by The People’s Lottery. The Commission gave careful consideration to both bids and ultimately selected Camelot’s bid.

An overview of the process, the Statement of Main Principles, Invitation to Apply (ITA), and a statement of the reasons for our decision are available to download on this site.
