  • A Lottery for the future: summary of responses

    This paper gives a summary of the views expressed in response to our consultation, some of our initial reactions to these, and highlighted the areas where we intended to carry out further work.

  • Consultation

    We consulted widely throughout the third National Lottery licence competition.

    We published a discussion paper ‘A Lottery for the Future’ in January 2005 and the ‘Summary of responses and areas for further analysis’ in July 2005. We engaged in debate with a wide range of interested parties about the structure of the competition.

  • Statement of Main Principles

    In November 2005, we published the Statement of Main Principles that underpinned the competition to award the next licence to run the National Lottery. The document was based on extensive consultation and underlined our commitment to running a fair, open, and transparent process.

  • Invitation to Apply

    The Invitation to Apply (ITA) was the formal invitation to bid for the third licence to run the National Lottery from 1 February 2009. The Draft ITA and Draft Licence were published in April 2006. The Final ITA and Final Draft Licence were published on 29 June 2006.
