ITA Clarification 28 - Regulation of lotteries other than the National Lottery
Lotteries other than the National Lottery, for example society lotteries, may be operated by individuals or organisations. These generally provide support for local projects of a sporting or charitable nature. Such lotteries must be in compliance with statutory limits on size and with arrangements set out by the Gambling Commission. The Commission has no role in the regulation of lotteries other than the National Lottery.
