National Lottery Commission appoints new Director of Resources

The National Lottery Commission today announced the appointment of Joy Watkins as the new Director of Resources. Joy has been with the Commission since 2001, previously holding the Head of Compliance position.
A qualified CIPFA accountant, Joy trained with the Audit Commission and has previously worked for KPMG. Prior to joining the National Lottery Commission she was the Compliance Manager for FOCUS, the Training and Enterprise Council for central London.
In her new role, Joy looks forward to providing an effective and efficient support function for the Commission and says, ‘I would like to continue developing the internal capacity and strengthening the strong culture of the organisation’.
Joy’s strong delivery skills will ensure a highly successful transition to her new role at the Commission.

The National Lottery Commission is the non-departmental public body set up on 1 April 1999 to regulate the National Lottery, a task formerly carried out by the Director General of the National Lottery. The Commission’s overriding duties under the National Lottery etc. Act 1993, as amended by the National Lottery Act 1998, are to ensure that the National Lottery is run with all due propriety and that the interests of players are protected.
