Randomness of Thunderball Draws: summary of findings (2005)
The National Lottery Commission asked the Centre for the Study of Gambling at the University of Salford to verify that there is no evidence of non-randomness within the U.K. National Lottery Thunderball game. Concentrating on all Thunderball draws up to and including 26th February 2005, and a large sample of representative Lucky Dip selections issued throughout February 2005, specific objectives were to test whether:
there is equality of frequency for each Thunderball number drawn;Thunderball draws are independent of preceding draws;the frequency of top tier winners is as expected;there is no evidence of non-randomness within any combinations of ball sets and Thunderball draw machines;there is no evidence of non-randomness within Thunderball Lucky Dip selections.
