Women and Gambling Conference
In June 2008, the National Lottery Commission (NLC) held an innovative conference at the Cumberland Hotel, London to examine the issues surrounding women and gambling. Titled *_Women & Gambling – Cultural, Social and Industry Perspectives, _*the aim of the conference was to build upon earlier research conducted by the NLC which looked into the gambling behaviours of women who play the National Lottery and other forms of gambling.
The conference was the first of its kind held by the NLC and used a wide range of techniques to generate discussion including interactive keypad voting, panel discussions and presentations. The end result was a wide gathering of opinions from our stakeholders and we are now looking ahead to develop future research initiatives in this area.
