Regulating the Lottery
We do everything we can to protect the National Lottery and the people who play it. We make independent checks to ensure that the Lottery is running as it should be according to the Licences.
We have a Compliance Directorate which has quick and easy access to the operator, Camelot’s systems and records. It performs checks on a broad range of the operator’s activities. It has a programme of regular work and also conducts a number of special investigations if required.
Our Licensing Directorate is responsible for licensing games, vetting the operator and its suppliers, protecting players and protecting the National Lottery brand.
Our Performance team closely monitors National Lottery sales, and commissions independent research to support the development of the National Lottery and ensure its integrity.
