Description

The National Lottery Commission identified two errors on Camelot's National Lottery website relating to incorrect figures. The first was for the EuroMillions jackpot figure for 28 May 2004, which was initially recorded as £8 million but was later corrected to £6,673,000. The second was for the Lotto jackpot of 5 June 2004, which was recorded as being £5.1 million and was later corrected to £4,231,059.

Background

Camelot provides players with details of results and jackpots via the National Lottery website. Camelot has an obligation to ensure that all such material is accurate.

Regulatory Action

The Commission investigated the issue and wrote to Camelot. Camelot accepted the breach and it was recorded on 6 July 2004.

Outcome

Steps have been taken by Camelot to ensure that a similar incident does not occur again. The Commission will monitor this closely.
