Incident of 27 December 2008

On 27 December 2008, for a period of approximately four hours, National Lottery players were unable to purchase tickets for draw-based games from retailers or interactively. The Commission investigated the causes of this event to assess whether the operator Camelot Group plc was in breach of any of its Licence obligations.

After a detailed investigation, the Commission concluded that the incident did not involve a breach of any of the conditions of the National Lottery operating licence and as a result we will be taking no formal regulatory action.
