London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

The National Lottery is committed to raising £750 million towards the cost of staging the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This will come from a series of designated Olympic Lottery games, where the ‘good cause’ proportion of Lottery income will be paid to the Olympic Lottery Distribution Fund (OLDF).

The designated games are the Dream Number draw game, some Scratchcards and all Interactive Instant Win games, as listed below.

    The National Lottery, along with its regulator, was established by the National Lottery etc. Act 1993. Initially, the regulator of the National Lottery was the Director General of the National Lottery. The Director General ran the Office of the National Lottery (OFLOT), the National Lottery Commission’s predecessor. The National Lottery Commission was established in April 1999.
