Transparency
The government has launched a public sector-wide transparency initiative. This aims to enable the public to see how public money is spent, to see the value that they are getting for their money and hold the government to account for it.
The Commission supports this initiative and recognises that it is important that public bodies should conduct themselves a way that is open and transparent.
As part of this transparency initiative, we have published the following information:
- Diagrams of the Commission’s organisational structure
- The Commission’s corporate expenditure over £500
The Commission has also been working to make available as much information and data as we can about the way we carry out our work and take decisions. In January 2010 we published our Policy on openness which summarises how we plan to achieve greater transparency. As part of our commitment to transparency we have started to publish responses to Freedom of Information Requests, Commissioners’ and Directors’ expenses, minutes of Commission meetings, and Commission governance documents.
- Responses to Freedom of Information requests
- Details of our Commissioners’ and Directors’ expenses
- Minutes of Commission meetings
- Commission Governance documents
- Details of any changes that we have made to the licence to operate the National Lottery
- Summaries of our decisions to license new, or changes to existing, National Lottery games.
We welcome comments on our approach to transparency and if there are areas where you would welcome greater transparency please contact us via info@natlotcomm.gov.uk or telephone 0121 230 6750.
